1.0 Purpose

Our staff are our greatest and most valuable asset. You are also our ambassadors and know best about what it is like to work for us. Clinical Partners supports and promotes the concept of employee referrals and believes it is important to reward current employees for helping us drive a high performing, successful environment.

In order to meet our current and future business needs, we need to attract and recruit the best talent possible who share our core values and aspirations.

In line with our values, we would like to encourage employees to refer good candidates who have the right skills and values to be a great addition to our business.

If you know someone who you think would enjoy working for our great company as much as you do, why not refer them through our new Employee Referral Bonus Scheme? You will be rewarded with a bonus if they are successfully appointed!

2.0 Scope of policy

Employees (staff who are employed by Clinical Partners on a permanent or fixed term contract) are eligible to refer a suitable candidate for open vacancies at Clinical Partners. Clinical Partners will pay a Referral Bonus to any employee who introduces a candidate who is subsequently recruited, and successfully completes their Probation Period.

This document sets out the Clinical Partner’s policy in relation to the Employee Referral Bonus Scheme. This scheme is offered on a discretionary basis and as such, Clinical Partners reserves the right to amend or withdraw it at any time on reasonable notice.

All queries relating to this scheme should be directed to the Recruitment Team.

  • Only one introductory bonus will be paid for each new referred candidate hired.

  • In the case of multiple referrals of the same candidate, we will proceed on a first referred by basis.

  • There is no limit on the number of referrals that an employee can make, however, any referral must be in connection with a specific current advertised vacancy.

  • The business is under no obligation to shortlist or interview referred candidates

  • Feedback on the success of an application referred via the scheme will only ever be disclosed to the applying party and never the referrer.

  • This scheme does not form part of your contract of employment or otherwise have any contractual effect.

3.0 Eligibility Criteria for Referrers

Employees who have successfully completed their probationary period are eligible to refer candidates for permanent or fixed-term contract roles of 12 months or more. We also welcome referrals for self-employed Clinician campaigns being advertised.

In order for a Referral Bonus to be paid, the eligibility criteria below must be met.

  1. The candidate is not a former employee, either permanent, fixed term, contractor, self-employed or agency worker, who has left Clinical Partners in the previous 12 months.

  2. The candidate has not previously applied for a role, and declined an offer from the Clinical Partners within the previous 12 months.

  3. The candidate must be clear in their initial application and provide the name of the referring employee as retrospective referrals after an application has been received, will not be accepted.

  4. The employee is not related to the referred candidate and has no personal interest in the referral.

  5. The employee is not working their Notice Period at the time of the referral.

  6. Employees must be employed with Clinical Partners at the time the referred candidate has successfully completed their Probation Period and the Referral Bonus is due to be paid.  Payment cannot be made to employees who are no longer working for Clinical Partners at the time payment is due.

Employees who are not eligible to refer candidates under the scope of this policy are:

  1. The Recruitment Team or anyone involved in the hiring process

  2. Agency workers

  3. Temporary workers

  4. Contractors

4.0 Process

Candidates should apply via the vacancy advertisement on the Clinical Partners’ careers site, submitting their CV and clearly stating the name of the referring employee.

It is essential the referrer is mentioned as such in the initial correspondence from the referred candidate. Please note that retrospective recruitment referral applications will not be accepted.

Whether the candidate is shortlisted for interview is entirely at the discretion of the Hiring Manager.

The Recruitment Team will notify successful referrers only of the outcome of the application at the end of the recruitment process and when an offer has been made and accepted.

If the candidate is interviewed and accepts an offer for the vacancy referred for, they must satisfactorily pass their probation period for a payment to be made to the referrer under this scheme.

For the purpose of this policy, a Referral Bonus relating to a fee paid clinician will be subject to the new clinician offering availability for 60 assessments within their first six months and not a Probation Period as defined for employed staff.

Once the referral bonus is due, it will be paid to the referring employee in their next salary payment, subject to payroll deadlines, normal tax and national insurance deductions.

The referral bonus scheme amounts are:

Role Type

Referrer Bonus

Admin/Non managerial role

£500

Manager/Supervisor/Team Lead

£1000

Head of/Director/SMT role or above

£3000

Clinicians – fee paid/employed

£500

Any disputes about the payment of referrals should be made to the Talent Acquisition Manager who will review the matter and decide whether, and to whom, a referral bonus is payable. That decision will be final.

An employee who refers a person and knowingly misleads the HR department in doing so or refers someone who is not lawfully permitted to take up the role, will be subject to disciplinary action. This will be seen as gross misconduct and could result in termination of employment without notice.
